Julian and I ventured across the moor on a rather dismal Saturday afternoon in June to meet
Angela who runs Wooder Manor. Angela is the third generation of the Bell family  – she is
passionate about the cottages and surroundings. The cottages are very well priced
and I think will appeal to families hoping to find reasonably priced
self-catering accommodation.

This is Lower Chinkwell, one of the five unique holiday homes that are named
after the overlooking tors.

Lower Chinkwell, a converted stable sleeps 4 in a double and twin. This property is one of the two
that is suitable for less mobile guests as it has level access and the bathroom has room
for a wheelchair to turn.

The lounge/dining room in Lower Chinkwell benefits from a coal effect electric fire
and lovely exposed stone walls.

This is the kitchen for Lower Chinkwell and as you can see comes equipped with everything
you will need to cook up a lovely family dinner.

This is the private garden for Honeybags Cottage, a charming cottage that sleeps 6.

Upon entering Honeybags you come directly into the kitchen, which again is adequately equipped.

The spacious lounge has a pretty gothic style window and this is the only cottage
that has a log burning stove. Logs are included during the winter months

Upstairs there is this family room that has a double bed and bunk beds

and this twin room. Both of the upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom which has a bath and shower.

This is the lounge/diner of Lower Hambledown a ground floor converted stable that sleeps 4.
Lower Hambledown is the second of the cottages that is ideally suited for the disabled.
It has level access from both the Manor and the Farm side, the access via the Manor side
is over gravel but Angela will put boards out to make it easier to access.

This is the double bedroom that it is on the same level and just behind where I was standing
to take this picture is the accessible en-suite to this room.

This is the en-suite and as you can see has been set up to be a great accessible shower-room
suitable for disabled.

The second bedroom in Lower Hambledown is up two steps and also has an en-suite bathroom,
so ideal if you need a carer to stay.

Wooder Manor has a further two cottages, the pictures above show Chinkwell Cottage
a first floor converted coach house that sleeps 4 in one double bedroom and one twim.  The final cottage Hameldown which sleeps 6 is also the first floor and offers family bedroom
with a full size cot and a double bedroom.

Final points of note there is a courtyard for safe off road parking and a large shared garden
with picnic benches provided. Safe storage for bikes and kayaks is provided free of charge.
For younger guests, cots, z-beds and high chairs are also available free of charge.
Duvets, blankets and pillows are supplied and bed linen is available by arrangement.
Laundry facilities are available on site. All cottages have central heating and this provided free
of charge from mid-September to end of May. Electricity is supplied by £1 coin meters (on average
£2 per day). Internet access is available in a central point.

Please view the Wooder Manor YouTube video – this will give you a great feel for all the activites that are on offer and gives you a great overview of what to expect on your Wooder Manor holiday.
